Naomi Nightingale, PhD

Nightingale & Associates, LLC, Principal/Owner

Dr. Naomi Nightingale worked in public and government organizations over 30 years before starting Nightingale & Associates, LLC, a consultant business providing high level leadership and change assistance to organizations in community and public relations, strategic planning and organization development.

As Community Relations Specialist with the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission in 1985, Dr. Nightingale developed and implemented the marketing plan for the 22-mile “Blue Line” from Downtown Los Angeles to Downtown Long Beach. She successfully managed community relations campaigns and programs to increase awareness and benefit of the rail, establish relationships with elected officials, community leaders and corporate representatives, create an employment recruitment program for unemployed adults and to create a rail safety program for elementary school children who lived near the rail corridor.

As Manager of Government and Public Affairs, Dr. Nightingale managed public relations for 23 of the 88 cities and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles MTA– the third largest transportation agency in the country.

As Chief of Staff, SunLine Transit Agency, Dr. Nightingale was the media relations representative, led the production of the Annual “State of Transit” Conference, created literature and oversaw the design, development and maintenance of the Agency’s website. When Dr. Nightingale retired, the City of Palm Desert proclaimed June 27, 2013 as Naomi Nightingale Day in appreciation of her service.
